Original Post

A reader alerted me to this well on this date, September 7, 2025, when the reader was going through the reader's most recent production statement.

Note to the reader:

You, the reader, benefit from this well, like so many other wells, because of the way the Bakken is drilled / spacing units.

Like all wells in the Charlson, this is a huge well, but it is a section line well which means the spacing unit is double the normal size but the royalties are therefore HALF the usual amount as a standard Bakken drilling unit.

The well is sited in section 36; the well runs along the section line between sections 25 / 26 and section 35 / 36.

You have royalty rights In section 26 and that's why you have royalties from this well.

The XTO Gilbertson wells are in the same area and you have royalties from the XTO Gilbertson wells.

The six orange-colored dots on the map are also BR wells but they will run south (they are still confidential) and you don't have royalties there as far as I know.
