December 1, 2021: the well discussed below --

  • 37661, 33-053-09474, conf, CLR, Harrisburg 2-27HSL, Indian Hill, fracked 9/17/21 - 9/23/21; 7.61 million gallons of water. 87.388% water by mass;

The reader noted that in his/her November 24, 2021 XTO statement some wells did not produce any oil for the month of September, 2021.

I checked XTO's three Nelson Federal wells on Indian Hill:

  • 20971, 1,087, XTO, Nelsen State 24X-33R, Indian Hill, t9/11; cum 203K 9/21; this is an active well, but it was taken off line 5/21 (May, 2021); it produced very little oil when it was producing;
  • 23761, 825, XTO, Nelsen State 24X-33F, Indian Hill, t2/13; cum 113K 7/21; this well was taken off line 8/21 (August, 2021) and remains off line 9/21;
  • 23762, 1,246, XTO, Nelsen State 24X-33A, Indian Hill, t2/13; cum 253K 8/21; this well was taken off line 9/21 (September, 2021)

The fact that these three wells were taken off line suggests CLR is fracking the Harrisburg site discussed in the original post.

Original Post

1. Continental Resources (CLR) has a 4-well Harrisburg pad sited in NENW 27-153-10, Indian Hill.

2. These wells are still confidential but are due to come off the confidential list this week. Unfortunately because of IT problems at NDIC, the NDIC is not updating scout tickets so even when this well comes confidential list we may not know what is going on for awhile.

3. My hunch: all of these wells, with one exception, will be 1280-acre spacing, sections 27 / 34-153-101 which does not affect Ekke.

4. Ekke has minerals:

  • section 33-153-101, S1/2NE1/4, N1/2SE1/4, SW?

5. The one exception:

  • Harrisburg 2-27HSL
  • I'm pretty sure that HSL = horizontal middle Bakken, section line
  • a section line well is generally spaced for four sections, 5280-acre spacing
  • if so, this section line well run down the section line between sections 33 and 34 of that township
  • those sections are already spaced for 5280-acre drilling

6. If this is all accurate, then Ekke should have minerals in this Harrisburg 2027HSL, NDIC ##37761.

The graphics:

  • the red star: section where Ekke has minerals
  • the black stars: the 4-section drilling unit
  • the big black arrow running south: likely location of the Harrisburg 2-27HSL horizontal bore
